BIRMINGHAM, AL — August 22, 2024 — Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC), a 430-bed, not-for-profit hospital with 3,600 employees and 500 medical providers on staff, has signed an agreement for Birmingham’s ProxsysRx to build and own the Yuma Regional Medical Center Foothills Pharmacy — an off-campus pharmacy located in the health system’s Foothills Medical Plaza. The pharmacy held a soft opening Wednesday, August 21st.
The new facility is ProxsysRx’s 17th owned-and-managed health system pharmacy — and the second one operating separate from a hospital’s primary campus. ProxsysRx owns and manages pharmacies in 12 additional states. Here in town, ProxsysRx manages UAB’s MedWest pharmacy — and owns-and-manages the pharmacies at St Vincent’s Birmingham and St. Vincent’s East. Altogether, ProxsysRx now holds 63 active contracts with 30 hospitals.
